all-season dressing & moving sale!

dearies,

my sincerest hope is that you are healthy and well in this unprecedented time.

it has been over half a year since my last missive and i can't believe how quickly time has gone by. i must share the reason for the "radio silence" on this end. it was due to preparing to sell our house! it has been several busy months of packing up much of our personal belongings, re-homing our flock of chickens with their original owner, and painting rooms within the house in more neutral colors, to appeal to a greater number of home buyers. and my buckwheat hull mattress that i made last year? i swapped it out for a purple hybrid 4 in late february and repurposed the buckwheat hulls as mulch for the garden. i should add, i am sleeping much better now than i had been before.

then, as you know, covid-19 happened and states, including oregon, immediately began issuing stay-at-home orders right as we listed our house for sale. we accepted an offer soon after listing. unfortunately, the deal fell through early in the closing process. four surreal, quarantined months later, i'm happy to report that we have accepted a new offer. the deal will be finalized this month - more details on where the dearie family have chosen to set up our new home in a future missive.

in the meantime, why not help us lighten our moving load by procuring a dress, pair of flag pants or bestowing an oddment gift upon a special someone or yourself? to help entice you, i've currently marked all dresses 60% off and everything else 25% off through july 15, 2020. my darling dearie reprise refashioned frocks on etsy have already been dramatically reduced and include free shipping, as well. after july 15th, both the darling dearie website and my etsy annex will pause all future orders until we are settled, once again.

after you've picked out a moving sale treasure from my website, i offer light reading from the wall street journal, who heralded earlier this year, something that i have been touting for years: wearing a single-style from summer through spring isn't entirely impossible!  as noted in their february 22-23, 2020 weekend edition, "...the seasonless dress doesn't need to be basic or simple or boring...cotton dresses will carry you the farthest, especially those with simple silhouettes."  and they echoed a another bit of wisdom i've been sharing for years: "adaptability is key..." and "...creative layering...".  my one-of-a-kind dresses are flattering on a wide-range of body types and quite comfortable, too. check out my versatile page, relatively unchanged since i launched my design line in winter 2015, for more inspiration, and to prove just how classic and timeless my one-of-a-kind frocks are.

and now i must return to our moving boxes. you never truly realize how much you have accumulated until it's time to pack it all up!

until my next missive...

xoxo,

darling
